sunday in ruins

there's something i've wondered since i first put a thought on it…
how come, if things are pretty new in this part of the world, they last few decades before they fall appart… and what about this ancient buildings, that will last even more than my eyes will be able to testify?
is that immediacy acquired in the last times makes of us fleeting objects?
patience is directly related to quality and detail care, and seems to be lost.

hay algo que me he preguntado desde que por primera vez lo pensé…
como es que, si las cosas son bastante nuevas por estos lados del mundo, duran muy pocas décadas antes de que se derrumben… y que tal esas construcciones antiguas, que duraran mas de lo que mis ojos podrán testificar?
será que la inmediatez de los últimos tiempos nos hace mas efímeros?
la paciencia es directamente proporcional a la calidad y cuidado a detalle, y es algo que parece haberse perdido.

es eso por lo cual la moda rapida [democratización de la misma] es la ruina del proceso creativo del diseño, el esfuerzo de la manufactura, y la experiencia de compra…

cada que guardo en el closet mis piezas preciadas lo hago con mas cuidado y gentileza que con las cosas que tienen una etiqueta generica… y temo, de verdad que si, con lo que sucedera con la percepción del comprador después de la colaboración entre mi casa de moda favorita y este monstruo de venta masiva…
