God bless Magritte

if you know me, you would know my 'devotion' to Margiela... his whole concept for the 'unknown-incognite' that his pieces are made with...
i strongly believe Martin has a special love for Magritte... i mean, theres tons of obvious references on his work that recall for Rene...
i was the other day at my 'Art History' class when my teacher explained this painting to us...
this was his 'test' for belonging to the group of the Surrealists... what a better way than to paint something surreal than to trick the mind...
'this is not a pipe' stands for the mind-trick that is 'this is just a projection of a pipe on a 2 dimensional scale' which also means: things are not what you may think they are... sometimes the idea you instantly create about something or someone has no 'reason'?
wow that for me is a true revelation and a call-out for everyone to meditate about our judgements for something or someone we encounter the next time and to try to understand why... or to just let live... amen.
